Overview
This rare piece by "Sir" Moses Ezekiel was in an outdoor setting in a private collection. When it was donated to the Cincinnati Art Museum in Eden Park, the curatorial decision was made to move the sculpture to a permanent indoor exhibition. Jensen Conservation Services was contacted to restore the bronze to exhibit quality.
Composition
Bronze
Scope of Project
The first step was to pressure-wash the statue. Seeing that there was still extreme color disparity, Jensen proceeded with a glass bead peening process that removed the corrosion products. Once the statue was cleaned to the metal, a new patina was applied.
